Veterans Commemoratives – Helping to Reunite Veterans with Lost Treasured Possessions

From across the country to across the pond in England, those who have found military rings, watches and other treasured  Military Service possessions are reaching out to Veterans Commemoratives to help find their owners.

The most recent “event” began in December in Davenport, Iowa. A special Air Force ring was found in the parking lot of a Habitat for Humanity store and was turned in to the store manager. She took one look at the ring and, realizing how special it is, she made it her mission to help find the person who lost it. After waiting a few weeks with no one claiming it, the manager posted photos of the ring on Facebook asking for their viewers’ help.

The posting went viral, with more than 9,000 views, which led to local TV coverage. Finally someone recognized the design as being a unique ring from Veterans Commemoratives. The manager contacted us and because of the custom design of the ring, including the personal inscription inside the ring, we were able to determine the person who ordered the ring nearly ten years ago. While we’re still in the process of contacting the owner, we hope to reunite him with his ring shortly.

Veterans Commemoratives (vetcom.com) has been creating customized military rings, watches and other treasured items to honor Veteran’s service to country, since 1987. Each ring and watch is highly personalized and engraved with initials and years of service. When a ring or watch is found and brought to our attention, through researching our orders we are able to match the lost item to the person who bought it, even if it was purchased many years ago.

Those who find a ring or watch such as the one found in the parking lot in Iowa, realize the importance of these military keepsakes, and want to reconnect them with their rightful owners. It has been Veterans Commemoratives honor to be able to play a part in this process.
