A Man’s Best Friend Continues to Serve

Even canines are in the process of helping American veterans that need a little extra security and companionship.  Paws for Veterans pairs returning veterans with dogs that are specially trained to meet the needs of veterans that have returned from serving in the Armed Forces.  Americans support our troops.  Even our furry friends are willing to serve their country in any way they know how.

Doing Your Part to Support American Veterans

Dogs can only be trained to do so much.  However, they can dedicate their entire canine lives to helping their owners.  Fellow Americans and others that support veterans can help in different ways.  A few ideas are listed below:

  • Try to start things off on the right foot by giving veterans a very warm welcome.  Support close friends and family as well as neighbors, coworkers, and other acquaintances.  Talk with others about organizing a celebratory party at work, and chip in to purchase a very special commemorative ring or watch.  Get different communities to support veterans together, and show your support with a top quality token of gratitude.
  • Compile a list of resources for veterans and their families, and publish the list on a social media networking site or blog.  Include resources for gifts from Veteran Commemoratives, resources for support from not-for-profit organizations such as Paws for Veterans, and resources for peer-to-peer support groups.
  • Show your support with simple acts of kindness.  Offer to make dinner for your neighbor as a kind gesture, or offer to buy a coworker lunch.  Do small things to make the lives of veterans easier when they come home.  Something as simple as offering to provide a night of free childcare for a neighbor can help reduce stress in their everyday lives.

Support Our Veterans the Best Way You Can

You might not be a good substitute for a canine companion.  However, you have a lot of resources that a dog does not.  Organize community events, give resources for support, invest some personal time, and finally give a commemorative gift to show the appreciation from the entire community.  Invest in a watch that says more than “Thanks.”  Invest in a watch that says, “We heartily appreciate all you do for our country.”
